My Favorite Green Smoothie Recipe

Happy New Year!

I get a LOT of requests to share my smoothie recipes. I don’t usually measure when I make my smoothies – you know, a handful of this, a little of that! – but this time, I made an exception for my favorite green smoothie recipe.

This recipe is one of my all-time best. I recently hosted a small gathering at my home, and the other women LOVED it – and they’re not even Health Junkies!

The funny thing is, I really had to encourage them to drink it after they saw the color. It’s hard being green!

They later admitted that they probably wouldn’t have tried it knowing it had kale in it. (Yep. Kale. But trust me, it’s awesome. And you probably won’t even taste it.)

Green Deliciousness Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups water (or coconut water)
  • 3/4 cup tightly packed kale (remove thick stems)
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 1 cup frozen pineapple
  • 1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt

Directions:

  1. Blend water with kale thoroughly
  2. Add banana, blend
  3. Add pineapple, blend
  4. Add yogurt, blend
  5. Enjoy fresh with a friend

Note: If you have a Vitamix or something equally powerful, toss it all in together and blend. But if you have an average blender, add your ingredients 1 at a time.

This recipe is child-friendly. My little guy can’t get enough.
