Tropical Green Smoothie *Recipe* – Inspired by Vitamix

I’ve seen a bunch of demos lately for the Vitamix. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very nice machine – but you don’t have to pay hundreds of dollars to make great smoothies at home.

I tried one of their smoothie recipes recently and was a BIG fan. But I knew there was no way my blender could handle all the solid ingredients. The blades would spin, and since this recipe had no liquid to “hold it all together”, the fruit and veggies would be untouched.

Since the recipe really was fantastic, I decided to make my own version. And so, here you are: my Vitamix-Inspired Tropical Smoothie recipe!

Oh, yeah. It’s totally delicious.

Vitamix Smoothie Ingred2

  • 2 cups coconut water
  • 3 cups of fresh spinach (100g)
  • 1 orange, peeled & divided
  • 1/2 large frozen banana
  • 2/3 cup fresh or frozen pineapple

  1. If you’ve got the Vitamix, throw it all together and press go!
  2. If not, blend the coconut water and spinach.
  3. Add the orange, blend.
  4. Add the banana, blend.
  5. Add the pinapple, blend.

It takes more time to blend your ingredients one by one, but this recipe is most definitely worth it. It yields just over 4 cups of tropical green deliciousness. 🙂
